Vendemos Bonita

June 9, 2006

I really enjoy these new Nike commercials. The game has always been sold as a team sport. When you take the team aspect of soccer, I think it does have the danger as being seen as boring. With low scoring and chess-like strategy, the team sport of soccer is hard to enjoy for the casual fan.

But, how can you NOT smile and appreciate the beauty of these players and everything they are seen doing with the ball? Well done.

My first post / Reflecting on my first brand

June 1, 2006

The first brand I can remember is Honda. My parents owned a 1984 Honda Accord. I was born in 1980. We kept the car until the age of the Dodge Caravan. My parents have since sworn by Japanese imports.

This is also one of the first viral ads, released in 2004.

I was sent this add by an engineer. He primariy thought it was a viral add best respected by his lot. However, I put forward that this is a great example of a viral add that works for the product.

According to imediaconnection.com, this intricate ad was filmed in 605 takes and took over five months to produce.

I like that a Honda engine is shown relatively quickly in the advertisement. Sometimes, when people view commercials that do not immediately introduce the product, they become impatient and want to know what they are trying to be sold.
